Hollywoof Trumps Online Casino Gambling!

Hollywoof Trumps Online Casino Gambling!

For a while there, it looked like the online gambling industry might finally get a foothold in the United States. Legislation that would have allowed states to legalize and regulate online poker was making its way through Congress, but then it hit a brick wall. The powerful Sheldon Adelson, owner of the Las Vegas Sands Corporation and one of the richest men in the world, lobbied hard against the bill and eventually got his buddies in Congress to kill it.

Adelson doesn't want any competition for his brick and mortar casinos, which is why he's been so successful in getting state governments to ban online gambling. But now there's a new sheriff in town, and his name is Donald Trump.

Trump has always been a friend of the casinos. He was one of the first people to open up a casino on the east coast, and his Taj Mahal casino in Atlantic City was actually a big money loser (although Trump himself made out like a bandit). But what Trump lacked in business acumen he made up for with political connections. He was able to get help from both state and federal governments when his casinos were struggling, and he always managed to keep his name in the papers.

Now that he's President-elect Trump, he should be able to help out the online gambling industry as well. He could use his influence to get Congress to pass legislation legalizing online poker (and other forms of online gambling) at the federal level. This would clear up all of the ambiguity about whether or not online gambling is legal, and it would allow states to regulate and tax the industry themselves.

This would be great news for companies like PokerStars, 888poker, and PartyPoker, which have been unable to operate legally in the United States for years. They could start setting up shop in states where online gambling is legalized, and they could start hiring American workers again. And who knows? Maybe Trump will even put his own name on an online casino someday!
